Orthopelvic Physical Therapy: Bridging the Gap Between Orthopedic and Pelvic Floor dysfunction

If you have come to Idealfit and you have any other physical therapy experiences to compare, you know I’m a little different. Individualized care,  one on one treatment for one hour, and your therapy most likely looks very similar to the activity you are looking to get back to.

With the addition of pelvic floor physical therapy, we are able to take that care to an entirely new level. From the patient’s perspective, you’ll notice the difference as we are able to perform pelvic floor assessments that add a huge amount of info to what we see by assessing your movement. And we are able to use that information to truly bridge the gap between your orthopedic and pelvic issues.

So as we are working on activities that typically cause symptoms or working to add weight to your exercise, we are aware of how your pelvic floor is functioning and able to adjust as needed. So in many ways, this is nothing like your typical pelvic floor or orthopedic PT.

Joining orthopedic and pelvic floor PT leads to more thorough assessments, more targeted and effective treatments, and long lasting outcomes. We are also increasing the likelihood that you will be able to do what you love for a long time.
