The Mysterious Pelvic Floor

I read an article recently detailing a study about the awareness of pelvic floor PT among American women. The study set out to answer the questions:

What percentage of women know what a pelvic floor is?

What percentage of women know what pelvic floor PT is?

What percentage of women know what a kegel is?

What percentage of women know about pelvic floor exercises besides kegels?

They looked at the answers and broke the answers down by race. What they found was that regardless of race, women know very little about pelvic floor issues and solutions. VERY LITTLE! But women are dealing with these issues.

My goal in life is to educate my corner of the universe on how to make their lives better, and women are at the top of my list. It’s an odd thing to me that we know to go someplace (not always the right place, but you get what I mean) when our knees hurt, but there is no guidance on how to address peeing your pants or painful sex?
